Map of Masonic Districts of Connecticut
The Grand Lodge of Connecticut is divided into nine districts, with two to four sub-districts in each. They originated with the county system employed by state government, then adjustments were made in the early 20th centruy with the recent expansion of the railroad system and later according to demographics of membership within the state.
Members of each district form a chain of progressive Grand Lodge officers who generally move through appointed and then elected positions. This distribution allows a different district each year to have the Grand Master come from their district.
